Devotions on children's Bible themes, rainy day projects, camp and Children's Church sermons, or Sunday School lessons. 52 selections with a memory gift for each. Choose by season, holiday, topic, or scripture.
Today’s educational thrust is integrated learning – the connecting of brain patterns between stimuli which are auditory (we hear it), visual (we see it), and kinesthetic (we touch it). Research bears testimony that the more senses that can be involved with the memory, the more likely that the child will remember the experience.
For each of these Children’s Moments, a small inexpensive gift is suggested; for example, a pipe cleaner made into the rod of Moses or an eraser illustrating God’s propensity to not only forgive, but forget. It is a way that the child may touch something in his or her own hand that makes the connection with the Biblical truth taught – a hands-on reminder of the meaning of the story.
While integrated learning is certainly an exciting aspect of communication, it is by no means a new concept. Years ago, God communicated his love for us in the most hands-on method ever to be recorded in the history of mankind. He sent his son to be the messenger of love to his children: speaking to us, showing us, and touching us in a way that we are forever changed.

t was nice to have a clear, straight forward, and TRUE message to share with the children. I especially appreciate the memory gift suggestions. I had play dough that was mixed together to a sort of clay gray color. I was surprised how many children and even adults were interested in the clay. I could see the children taking it all in with something hands on to grasp the story even better. A few boys stayed after the moment's were over because they hadn't been passed the "clay." I hope God continues to bless your ministry!

52 Children's Moments is appropriately titled! Contained within the pages of this book are little moments in time for children to connect to God. As a mom, I imagined sitting down on rainy days with my young girls and teaching them these simple and timeless truths. I also thought, "WOW! Our day care workers would love these!"
Each weekly "treasure" suggests a simple, inexpensive, common item to illustrate the truth for that day. Elaine has done a remarkable job of making God come alive for little hearts and minds."
